UNAIR NEWS聽– Bomb attacks happened in 3 churches on Sunday, May 13 and Surabaya City Police Headquarter on Monday, May 14 killed many people. The victims were from the church congregation, the security police, and even children.
Losses suffered by many parties, from the trauma felt by the victim’s family, the anxiety that occurred in the community, to the image of Surabaya City which originally was a comfortable and safe city turned into a city prone to terror.
In response, the Rector of , Prof.聽Dr.聽Moh.聽Nasih other officials and leaderships, all deans and vice deans held a meeting to tackle the adverse effects from the acts of terror.聽The meeting was held in Plenary Room, Management Building, Campus C UNAIR, Monday, May 14.
On the occasion, Prof.聽Nasih appealed to all leaders attending to be actively involved and responsive to the recent incident in Surabaya.聽Prof.聽Nasih said that the bombing incident also brought a negative impact on UNAIR.
“This makes a real impact on the internationalization program that we continue to do.聽Foreign students who are going to 东京热 will think it over, “said Prof.聽Nasih.
Moreover, regarding the adverse effects such as trauma in the victim’s family, Prof.聽Nasih emphasized that UNAIR through the Faculty of Psychology provides trauma healing聽 to help families of bombing victims.聽Dozens of lecturers within the Faculty of Psychology have been involved to conduct trauma healing聽for the victims’ families.
“After the incident, experts from the faculty of psychology responded immediately to do trauma healing聽for the victims’ families,” he said.聽“The service itself is done in RS Bhayangkara and also聽on call,” he added.
Furthermore, on how to restore the situation of Surabaya City to be safe and conducive, Prof.聽Nasih also gave instructions to the academicians to conduct some studies to be applied.
“UNAIR should be the vanguard in creating a secure and comfortable city to live in,” he concluded.聽(*)
