UNAIR NEWS – After successfully winning runner up title at Parahyangan Legal Competition 2018, three students of Faculty of Law (FH) made another achievement.聽They won the Best Paper award in a scientific writing competition (KTI) organized by Faculty of Law Student Executive Board, University Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta on Wednesday, April 11.
The three students were Antonius Gunawan (2015), Hidayatur Rohman (2015), Muhammad Dayyan Sunni (2015).聽They were members of Semi-Autonomous Body (BSO) of Airlangga Young Jurist Community (MYMA) FH UNAIR.聽They are under the guidance of Bagus Oktavian Abrianto, S.H, M.H.
After successfully passing the preliminary round, they presented their paper with nine other participants from various universities such as, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Surakarta, Universitas Brawijaya, and Univesitas Negeri Semarang.
“Early registration was around February.聽Then from 40 registrants only the best ten can proceed to the next round.聽The writing process ran well there were obstacles related to administration and funds.聽But thankfully we can finally leave and represent UNAIR, “said Rohman.
Rohman and his friends won the best paper.聽Although they were not among the winners, but the delegates were proud of their achievement.
In that competition, the first winner was from Universitas Negeri Surakarta, 2nd winner was Univesitas Negeri Semarang, and the third winner was Universitas Brawijaya.
From that competition, Rohman said that they learned a lot of things.聽For example, in terms of presentation.聽The other delegates were very creative.聽They use supporting tools such as x-banners, posters, videos while he and his team, only relied on paper and memory.
“The participation of FH students in this writing competition is not very often.聽Most of students鈥 interests are in the debate and the National Moot Court Competition.聽Hopefully from this achievement, the other students are inspired to follow the next competition, “added Rohman.聽(*)
