UNAIR NEWS聽鈥撀燙urriculum vitae聽or CV, is often used in聽job聽recruitment.聽Even scholarship applications often require a CV as a form of personal introduction data.聽CV ATS (聽curriculum vitae applicant system program聽),聽a software聽or program with a function of screening CV online, has been developed.
However, not many people and students know about the ATS CV, especially for applicants who apply abroad.聽So as an effort to introduce and share tips for passing the CV ATS stage, the Directorate of Career Development, Incubation, Entrepreneurship and Alumni Affairs (DPKKA) UNAIR, in collaboration with Wall Street English, held a webinar 鈥淐V ATS聽Friendly Making聽.鈥 It was held online via the Zoom platform on Thursday, January 6, 2022.
The material about ATS-friendly CV was聽presented by Ryan Blasczyk, who is a mentor from聽Wall Street English.聽Ryan revealed that the CV ATS is a personal document that can describe the quality of the applicant, especially for聽fresh graduates聽who will apply for jobs at international companies or scholarships.
鈥淗owever, CV ATS in each region is very different because it depends on the country, as well as the targeted company,鈥 he explained.
Furthermore, Ryan continued, the submission of the CV ATS must be in accordance with the聽skills聽and educational background you have.聽If someone聽applies for聽a particular job that is not matched with their skill and educational background, that person will automatically fail the CV ATS stage.
鈥淔or example, you want to become a doctor, but you have a bachelor鈥檚 degree in education, then automatically, you will not be accepted because you register for qualifications that do not match your background,鈥 he said.
At the end of the presentation, Ryan encouraged participants to always improve the capacity and quality of English, especially for those who want to apply for jobs or scholarships because English is an international language widely used in various countries in the world.
鈥淓nglish is important, because if you cannot speak English. Then you will be in trouble in composing your ATS friendly CV because all of them use English for those who want to apply for jobs or scholarships abroad,鈥 he concluded. (*)
