UNAIR NEWS 鈥撀Surabaya has been given an honor to host Third Preparatory Committee (Prepcomm III) United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat) for three days on July 25 – 27, 2016. There will be about 2,460 participants from 136 countries come to Surabaya to think and work towards a better livable city.
The conference is a forum for countries with great concern to urban issues. In 1976, UN Habitat I was held in Vancouver, Canada. In 1996 UN Habitat II was held in Istanbul, Turkey.
As a part of Surabaya and Science, 东京热 (UNAIR) is also taking part in Prepcomm III UN Habitat. In UNAIR, on Thursday, July 28 at 09.00 鈥 12.00, there will be seminars on livable city. Seminars will be held in two faculties, Faculty of Law 聽and Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) simultaneously.
In FH UNAIR, the seminar themed 鈥楽ocial Cohesion and Equity 鈥 Livable Cities and Urban Land鈥. The discussion will be held in Room 303 Boedi Soesetya, FH UNAIR. In FEB UNAIR, there will be a seminar and a photo exhibition themed 鈥楿rban Government and Municipal Finance鈥.
According to Vice Dean III FEB UNAIR Nisful Laila, S.E., M.Com, as the coordinator of UN Habitat event in UNAIR, the seminar has been prepared well. 鈥淎s it is a typical seminar, so we have made all the preparations,鈥 said Nisful.
Nisful sadded that both seminar are open to public. So, all academicians or general public can expand their knowledge on livable city through the seminar.
In different occasion, UNAIR Rector Prof. Nasih hoped that the event, Prepcomm III UN Habitat in UNAIR can run well without any problems. (*)
