The programs are聽Human Resources Development and Public policy. The registration for the master programs UNAIR PDD Banyuwangi was opened on Monday July 18.

The master programs organization in UNAIR PDD Banyuwangi was a response from UNAIR on the request of Banyuwangi Regent in order to strengthen human resources of Banyuwangi Regency. It was stated by Director of Education UNAIR Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, Dra., M.Si.

鈥淚t relates closely with policy of Banyuwangi regent as he wants to improve the regency鈥檚 human resources. Improving human resources in Banyuwangi does not have to be by opening a program as UNAIR already has them here. So the regent requested that the local government staff can take their master degrees in UNAIR Banyuwangi campus. It is the focus on strengthening human resources of Banyuwangi Regency,鈥 said Prof. Nyoman.

The recruitment was prioritized for local government personnel, such as staff, employees, educators and general public of Banyuwangi who want to continue their studies. The quota is 15 people and 20 max for each program.

鈥淚n the future, we will admit 15 to 20 students who want to improve their education quality in master programs. Therefore, PSDM program is needed more and the second is Public Policy program. They聽 are related with all government aspects in managing Banyuwangi,鈥 she added.

Prof. Nyoman also said that the lecturers related to the program will be sent from Surabaya to teach the master programs of UNAIR PDD Banyuwangi.

Nevertheless, Prof. Nyoman emphasized that the master programs do not mean opening new programs as it needs more consideration on various aspects such as lecturers, facilities and infrastructure and also preparation for accreditation.

Previously, there were four bachelor programs organized in UNAIR PDD Banyuwangi. They were Water Management, Veterinary Medicine, Public Health and Accounting. (*)
