UNAIR NEWS聽鈥揈astern Part of Indonesia University Network (EPI UNET) forum is a communication forum to discuss any problems related to University Tri Dharma, especially for universities in Eastern Indonesia. Even 东京热 has just joined the forum, it was trusted to host a meeting which was held in Room 300 Kahuripan Hall, Campus C, UNAIR on Wednesday, January 18.
In this forum, the Head of Institute of Research and Innovation (LPI) UNAIR Prof. H. Hery Purnobasuki, M.Si., Ph.D hoped that the event attended by representatives of 17 universities, state or private universities in eastern part of Indonesia could be the forum of collaboration in developing each institution.
鈥淲e hope that through each university鈥檚 excellence, we can collaborate to develop universities in eastern part of Indonesia especially in research,鈥 said Prof. Hery.
EPI UNET Coordinator 聽EPI UNET Prof. Dr. Ketut Buda Artana, ST., MSc, explained the beginning of this forum in 2004. At first, it was started by ITS collaboration with some universities in eastern part of Indonesia, such as Universitas Nusa Cendana, Universitas Sam Ratulangi, and Universitas Papua. Then, an idea to always develop and collaborate came up to maximize each university鈥檚 excellence.
鈥淔rom that moment we thought that this pattern should be done and so EPI UNET was established. First, we had collaborative research. So when our lecturers conduct a research, we involved the members of EPI UNET,鈥 said the professor of ITS Surabaya.
As the host, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., CMA., Ak., responded positively regarding the forum. In his opinion, greater future challenges and limited resources should be managed with collaborations and cooperation. 聽Prof. Nasih also added that EPI UNET vision and missions should be optimized together continuously.
鈥淚f we just rely on the state and tuition fees from students, it won鈥檛 be enough. Therefore we need to find something sturdy to lean on, collaboration. It is a part of developing shared objectives. Therefore, each excellence we have can be one optimal strength for collaboration,鈥 said Prof. Nasih. (*)
