UNAIR NEWS聽– Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemristekdikti) has set the policies related to the selection of State Universities 2019. The policy is related to the national standard selection process by referring to the principles of fairness, transparency, flexibility, efficiency, accountability and technological developments information in the digital era.
Regarding the various policies, UNAIR Rector Prof.聽Nasih said that in principle, the regulation regarding the selection process between 2018 and 2019 were not very different.聽There are still three channels, State University National Admission Selection (SNMPTN), State University Joint Entrance Test (SBMPTN), and Independent Admission channel.
“It’s just that, for the 2019 SBMPTN, it will use one test method, Computer-Based Written Test (UTBK).聽There are no more tests using paper, “he said.聽“In the past, prospective students registered beforehand, including choosing a program.聽This year, prospective students are given the opportunity to take the test first, “he added.
Furthermore, Prof.聽Nasih also added that the tests will be carried out gradually.聽Probably there will be twelve tests within a period of approximately two months every Saturday and Sunday.
“So there is no mass gathering at the same time,” he said.
After doing the tests, the participants will choose the program they want.聽Previous years, the test was done simultaneously in a same day and the students had already chosen the program.
“That鈥檚 聽the difference. However, the registration will be done simultaneously, “he stated.
By knowing the results of the test, according to Prof.聽Nasih, prospective students will be able to measure the result with the program they choose.聽Regarding the location of the exam, Prof.聽Nasih said that the exam would be held in all state universities in Indonesia.
“In 2019 there will be no Local Committee system anymore, all will be centralized by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT),” he said.
Regarding quotas in each path, Prof.聽Nasih added that UNAIR’s quota would not be much different from the previous year.聽For this year’s regulation, SNMPTN is 20% minimum, SBMPTN 40% minimum, Independent admission 30% maximum.
“The quota of admission at UNAIR will be around these percentages,” he concluded.
