One of the ingredients to watch out for in聽skincare聽is steroids.聽Basically, steroids are drugs used to treat inflammation in the body.聽Dr.聽Medhi Denisa Alinda, dr., Sp.KK.聽FINDSV, says that skincare manufacturers use steroids聽because they make changes to the skin quickly.聽鈥淥ne of the effects of using steroids in skincare is hypopigmentation.聽It is what is often misused in聽skincare聽products聽as a whitener,鈥 she said.

In addition to steroids, there are聽other聽skincare聽ingredients聽that people should be aware of, such as mercury and hydroquinone.聽鈥淢ercury is prohibited from being used for skincare.聽Meanwhile, the use of hydroquinone must be with the recommendations of a dermatologist,鈥 she said.
The dermatology and venerology specialist at 东京热 Hospital (UNAIR) and a lecturer at FK UNAIR advised the public to be careful in choosing聽skincare,聽especially for products that provide quick results.聽鈥淧eople must first check the ingredients in聽skincare.聽If it offers fast white skin in an instant, they should be wary of the hypopigmented effect of steroids and that ultimately causes facial skin to turn red easily,鈥 explained Medhi.
Suppose in the use of聽skincare聽there are side effects as previously mentioned. In that case, the public is advised to immediately stop using skincare and consult a dermatologist to restore facial skin to normal.
