UNAIR NEWS聽鈥 Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) Library Three-year Vocational (D3) Program of (UNAIR) had been appointed to host the Regional Representative Council Jamboree (DPW) III Indonesian Library and Information Student Association (HMPII).聽It was held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, online via Zoom Meeting.
The Chief Executive and UNAIR Library program student, Jumro鈥檃tin Nur Layly, revealed that the biennial routine strengthens the relationship between library and information science students throughout Indonesia through discussion activities.聽She added that the event was also aimed at introducing and聽branding聽the library science study program through the #聽growwithlibraryissue听肠补尘辫补颈驳苍.
鈥淭his event was attended by students majoring in library and information science, both D3 and S1 from various universities in Indonesia.聽We usually take turns to hold it聽offline聽in our respective host cities, but due to the pandemic conditions, this year, it is held online,鈥 said Layly.
The coverage area of HMPII III includes East Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta. In total, no less than 40 student delegates attended the event.
Two content creators were invited as speakers. They are Didin Mujahidin as the owner of @shootmera.id and Faiqotul Hima, a Youtuber.聽It is in line with the event鈥檚 theme, entitled 鈥淗ow to be a good content creator鈥.
According to Layly, under current conditions, the media is very influential in聽branding聽and promoting libraries.聽鈥淎fter the event, we want to build management that can accommodate creators鈥 content about libraries.聽The hope is that public interest and knowledge of the library will increase through the content created,鈥 said the 2020 student.
This year鈥檚 activity is slightly different from the previous one. All participants are required to donate books to be distributed to the Jojoran Community Reading Space (TBM), Surabaya.
鈥淗opefully, the discussions and activities carried out can realize a real program. Moreover, it can be held again for years to come,鈥 she wanted. (*)
