Hospitality Students Ready to Be True Entrepreneurs

UNAIR NEWS – An entrepreneur is a person who engages in entrepreneurial activity or a person who is able to recognize new products, compile, produce, and market them.聽To be a true entrepreneur, challenges will be faced, as described in a guest lecture held on Friday, April 20.

The guest lecture on Motivation and Entrepreneur Inspirations聽held in Faculty of Vocational Studies Hall. It was attended by D-3 students of Hospitality Management.聽The material was presented by Roni Iswahyudi Arham, an聽entrepreneur聽and聽public relations.

In this guest lecture, students are taught to do whatever they want in order to realize their desires.聽As Roni said,聽Stop Dreaming Start Doing.聽Students were invited to act directly and do not just dream it聽.

In addition, students were also taught about the things that must be prepared for entrepreneurship such as strong will, willingnes to accept risks, also the science of organization.聽Roni said that the most important thing in entrepreneurship is to be grateful, in pleasant condition or not.

Students seemed enthusiastic with the material in this guest lecture, so many of them were asking questions.

Roni who is also alumni of Hospitality Management in 2010 said that students should be willing to try entrepreneurship to innovate and develop further.

“Because if we only work in hotels, it can be boring.聽And, if we stick to the same thing all the time, we won鈥檛 be creative.聽Well, entrepreneurship activities like selling phone credits or聽online shop can be side jobs and it is innovative, “said Roni.

Roni advised students to start entrepreneurship from small things but the most important is the willingness and act on it.

“Most importantly, it is productive and useful for us and the surrounding community especially when the results can be used for pocket money, “he added.

In this guest lecture, students were also taught not to give up easily, to always try, to accept all the criticisms that build the spirit.聽Students were also taught to manage time efficiently despite being busy with lecture schedules.聽So, it can make students more confident that they can also study and do entrepreneurship simultaneously.

Meanwhile, Dian Yulie Reindrawati S.Sos., M.M., Ph.D, as the coordinator of D-3 Study Program of Hospitality Management, hoped that students can gain insight well from the guest lecture.聽“Hopefully students can be better and better for the future,” he explained.聽(*)
