UNAIR NEWS聽– BEM of Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) in collaboration with the Muslim Student Intellectuals Congregation (JIMM) and Chemical Student Association (HIMAKI) held a series of events titled “Echoes of Ramadhan FST 2018 “.聽The event on Thursday and Wednesday, May 17 and 23 was themed “FST Shares”.聽It was not only aimed to enliven the holy month of Ramadan, these activities were means to improve social awareness to others.
There were two activities,聽charity event at the Rhoudotul Jannah Orphanage and iftar event at FST.
There were 30 orphans from various levels of education, from elementary schools (SD), to senior high schools.聽They were not only given the insight on religion, but also motivation.聽The event was ended by iftar event and gift distribution to the orphans.
“We gave more than an Islamic education and teaching the Quran.聽We motivated them to make achievements.聽There were also some games to make it interesting, ” said Fahmi.
In the second activity, iftar event was held at FST.聽There were over 170 people attending.聽Vice Dean I Faculty of Science and Technology Dr.聽Hartati, M.Si., also attended the event.聽There was a sermon and dhikr to face the final exams as the opening.
“Not only takjil and iftar food.聽There was also a sermon by Ustadz Arif Wibowo before eating together.聽There was also banjari performances from JIMM, “said Fahmi.
Fahmi added, hopefully the event can be useful and create an awareness in the university.聽The event was a success therefore it was expected to initiate a similar event in the following years.聽(*)
