UNAIR NEWS – The Ksatria Airlangga continuously made achievements. Teams of medical students from Faculty of Medicine (FK) ������ won three trophies at the scientific competition ” Atma Cordis Scientific Aesculapius 2018 “ organized by Faculty of Medicine Universitas Katolik Atma Jaya Jakarta. Dozens of Medical Faculties from various regions of Indonesia took part in this competition.

In Aesculapius 2018 there were various categories of competition, Scientific Essay Competition, Scientific Poster, and Poster of Community Health. In the event from February 28 to March 3, 2018, FK UNAIR won the First Place in the Scientific Essay competition by Chabib Fachry Albab and Glazydia Juwita Rachma.

Then the ambassador in Scientific Poster competition contest, FK UNAIR team won second place, through the work of Farmindo Hartono and Kevin Luke. While 3rd Place was obtained by Community Health Poster through the work of Alfin Putratama and Annora Zerlina Lysandra.

“The competition was fun and interesting. We can also gain experience and new friends from various universities in Indonesia, “commented Alfin Putratama, winner of the Community Health Poster competition.

At first, Alfin and his partner had expectations and predicted that the event would be boring. But it was actually beyond their expectations. “Very interesting! The committee was also very friendly and the show is fun and educational, “continued Alfin.

This year, the Aesculapius 2018 competition was focused on ” Cerebro-cardiovascular disease ” . The scientific paper titled “Biobricks: L-arginine Mini Factory” was submitted by Chabib Fachry Albab and Glazydia Juwita Rachma.

For the Scientific Poster, the work was titled “The Effectiveness of PCSK9 Inhibitor and SIRT6 with Delivery System of Nanoparticle 23-mer polynomine-Guanine as the Arterosclerosis Therapy” by Alfian Nurfaizi and Muhammad Hanun Mahyuddin and “Optimizing Radiotracer 32P on Stable Cardio Coronary Artery Curcumin Curcuma longa With Serum Vitamin C as Anti-aggregation Platelet and Blood Viscosity Control Post Angioplasty at Young Adults” by Hana Aqilah Nur Imania and Salwa Putri Qurrotuaini.

In the competition of Community Health Posters FK UNAIR sent a work entitled “Fight Stroke”created by Alfin Putratama and Annora Zerlina Lysandra and in the Scientific Poster and Scientific Writing, the work entitled “The Use of Capsaicin Chili (Capsicum frutescens) Based on MPEG-PCL Nanoparticle Technology as an Alternative Prevention of Herb-Based Atherosclerosis” by Farmindo Hartono and Kevin Luke.

According to Kevin Luke, as one of the delegates FK UNAIR, Aesculapius 2018 was very different from other competitions. It was organized well, so the competition became more interesting. In addition to joining the race, participants were also invited to go on a city tour and attend a seminar on the current health condition of Indonesia.

“We were surprised and happy for winning the first place and being able to participate and gain reputation for UNAIR, especially in a scientific competition. I hope that in the future, UNAIR will send more delegates to join the contest, and win in every category contested, “said Annora. (*)
