UNAIR NEWS – After achieving the second place in as faculty with the most international Scopus publications in 2017, the Faculty of Medicine in 2018 has targeted 170 international scopus indexed journals and proceedings.聽Overall, FK performance this year has risen significantly, including the budget reaching Rp 121 billion.
“I admit our target this year is quite high.聽But we are optimistic, as in past years, we achieved 80% of our target.聽As the oldest faculty we are optimistic to support UNAIR to achieve the target of the government for Top 500聽World Class University聽(WCU), ” said Dean of FK UNAIR Prof.聽Dr.聽H. Soetojo, dr., SpU (K) to聽UNAIR NEWS.
On the publication achievement, the Professor of Urology Science FK UNAIR added that if the聽baseline聽of 2017 were only 69 articles, their target will increase significantly. The articles contained in the scopus indexed proceedings is also expected to reach 600 articles.
“In FK, the activity level is high,聽InshaAllah聽target of 600 articles will be achieved,” said Prof.聽Soetojo.
As in previous years, the faculty will always encourages the publication of FK researchers in Scopus-indexed journals.聽Nevertheless, in the 2018 performance target, non Scopus indexed publications is also considered.聽The target of non-Scopus journal is 63 articles while the publication of articles on non-scopus proceedings is not targeted.
The publication of articles on accredited national journals is targeted 120 articles.聽Then the publication of books, textbooks, modules, teaching materials with ISBN, is expected to reach reach 30 titles.
“While the indexed Scopus journal faculty is both for Medicine and Midwifery.聽Insha Allah聽it will be achieved, “said Prof.聽Soetojo.
Scientific activities both聽international聽seminars and聽workshops聽will also be improved. Ten international activities have been arranged will be implemented by 29 departments in FK UNAIR.聽Because the target is fewer than the number of departments, the programs will be selected competitively, so the best programs will be聽supported聽to become international event.
Outbound聽and聽inbound聽programs聽in FK are also targeted quite high.聽Part time outbound was increased from 121 last year to 150 students.聽It is the number of UNAIR FK students who will conduct scientific activities (competitions, seminars, courses, etc.) abroad in less than three months, or equivalent with 12 credits.
While聽full-time outbound聽was increased from 10 to 15 students.聽Then聽part time inbound –聽foreign students who participate in scientific activities at UNAIR less than three months or equivalent with 12 SKS – is also expected to increase from 26 to 50 students.
Prof.聽Soetojo also confirmed that聽there have been 20 visiting professor聽at FK UNAIR.聽Among them are in the Department of Urology and聽Obstetrics and Gynecology聽(Obgin) twice each and once implemented by Dept.聽 Medical Rehab, Cardiology, Neurosurgery.
“This year I am sure no less than 20 visits as well, because聽visiting professor聽is potential for improved publicity,” said Prof.聽Soetojo.
In 2018 FK UNAIR also hopes to propose 13 lecturers of Faculty of Medicine UNAIR to get professorship.聽It will increase the number of active Professors teaching at FK UNAIR to 70 people.聽(*)
