UNAIR NEWS聽– Dharma Wanita 东京热 distributes one thousand staple food packages to the poor around UNAIR.聽The packages were distributed directly by the Head of Dharma Wanita, the officials of and Directors of BNI at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Hall on Wednesday, June 6.
The distribution of staple food packages is a routine agenda of Dharma Wanita UNAIR before Eid al Fitr.聽The blessing of Ramadhan can be achieved by strengthening solidarity by reducing the burden of the poor before Eid al Fitr.
The activity titled Staple Packages Distribution Ramadan 1439 for Community and Orphans in UNAIR 2018 collaborated with BNI 46. For UNAIR, BNI is a strategic partner for this event.聽Similar activities were also done in the previous year.
Head of the Committee Drg.聽Dwi Retno Soetojo in his speech stated that the poor community around UNAIR has the attention of the organization during this time.聽This time there are six urban communities in the list of recipients beside the Tunas Jatim Surabaya orphanage.
“The six urban communities were Airlangga, Karang Menjangan, Mojo, Mulyorejo, Kedung Sroko, and Pacarkeling,” she said.
In details, there are 60 staple packages for the orphanage, Airlangga 125 packages, Karang Menjangan 25 packages, Mojo 75 packages, Mulyorejo 50 packages, Kedung Sroko 40 packages, and Pacarkeling 51 packages.
“There was also aid for temporary employees (PTT) and cleaning personnel in UNAIR,” she added.
Responding to the statement Drg.聽Dwi, Head of Dharma Wanita UNAIR Ms.聽Gusmaniarti Kusnanto, M. Pd., Expressed her gratitude to all the committees and parties involved, especially BNI 46. Although not many, she hoped that the aid could slightly reduce the burden especially for those who return to their hometown.
“Hopefully this activity can bring blessings for all of us,” she said.
Lilis Suriani, one of the recipients, UNAIR Library cleaners, felt helped with the package.聽According to her, during Lebaran, she has a lot of needs that must be met especially the nine staple commodities (sembako).
“I鈥檓 very happy, it鈥檚 very helpful.聽Alhamdulillah.聽From us, there are a total of 20 recipients.聽In details 10 were from Campus B;聽6 from Campus A;聽and 4 from Campus C,” she told UNAIR NEWS before the event.
“Some our friends are going home to Purwodadi, Central Java.聽It helps a lot, thank you, “Lilis added while pointing her friends.
Rector UNAIR Prof.聽Dr.聽Mohammad Nasih SE., MT, Ak., CMA., hoped that this activity can be held continuously.聽The perfection of Ramadan, he added, is from the activities of sharing.聽Therefore, these activities are expected to ease the burden of the communities.
