UNAIR NEWS 鈥聽Born as twins is a God鈥檚 gift. Having identical appearances, 聽M. Dedy Bastomi or known as Dedy and M. Deny Basri or known as Deny also have similar uniqueness. They both study at Diploma 3 (three year program) of Information System Automation, are now participating in 29th Student National Science Week in Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB).
Interviewed in the venue, Dedy said that his trick to be able to participate in final round was willingness to learn from experience. Qualified in last year鈥檚 PIMNAS in Kendari, Dedy learned many things from his experience with his twin brother and friends in PIMNAS.
鈥淭he key to success, learning from last year鈥檚 experience. Observing the titles interesting to judges and knowing friends potentials for collaboration,鈥 he said.
Deny, his brother had his own story related to their PIMNAS journey this time. From 12 PKM proposals they submitted, 3 of them were through. It was a unique experience for Deny.
鈥淚t broadens experience and gave the best one before graduation,鈥 he said proudly.
Even though they have participated twice in PIMNAS, they still had their challenges as they are in their last semester.
鈥淲hen we were going to have PIMNAS preparation camp in, Deny hasn鈥檛 done with his final exam. So, after the camp, he worked around the clock for the exam,鈥 recalled Dedy.
Furthermore, both often have disputes during formulation of ideas for PKM proposals. Even so, they always reach an understanding in the end.
鈥淲e often have disputes, if we don鈥檛 understand each other it could be a row. We must understand each other,鈥 said Deny.
These twin brothers who are also Bidikmisi awardees, were determined to finish their study after PIMNAS. They also had planned to transfer to bachelor program.
鈥Alhamdulillah we had finished our exam, we have judicium next,鈥 said Dedy.
Medal Winners
During this PIMNAS, they participated in PKM T category titled 鈥淪istem Segmentasi Citra Sebagai Pengukuran Tendensi dan聽Stability Volume聽Busa padaFoaming Test聽Pelumas di Laboratorium PT.Pertamina Lubricants Gresik Berbasis Borland Delphi 7 (Image Segmentation System as Foam Tendency Measurement and Stability Volume in Lubricant Foaming Test in PT. Pertamina Lubricants Laboratory Gresik Based on Borland Delphi 7).鈥 Deny, Dedy and their PKM team succeeded in getting a silver medal for presentation category and a silver medal for a bronze medal.
Medals they won contributed to UNAIR achievement as the third place winner from 145 universities in Indonesia in PIMNAS. It is better than last year PIMNAS which was at the fourth place. (*)
