Concern with Tuberculosis, BEM FF Holds Quick Response Action

UNAIR NEWS 鈥撀March 24 is commemorated as World Tuberculosis Day. Tuberculosis is one of infectious diseases whose transmission process is quite easy. The effect can be fatal if it is not properly treated.

In response to the problem and to commemorate the World Tuberculosis Day, Quick Response Action (ACT) of Community Service Department of Student Executive Board (BEM) Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) 东京热 distributed free masks.

鈥淲e also disseminate the information on how the transmission and symptoms of tuberculosis to the community,鈥 said Siesilia Lovena as the head of the event.

There were at least 50 masks distributed in Campus B surrounding areas such Jojoran, Dharmawangsa, Karangmenjangan, and Jalan Airlangga. Interviewed in UNAIR NEWS office, Siesilia said that the goal of distributing the masks is to make the people aware of the danger of tuberculosis.

鈥淭he community supports are needed to reduce or stop the transmission in Indonesia. The community supports hopefully raise their morale to implement healthy lifestyle,鈥 she added.

The 2015 students also added that the masks distribution was for people who spends most of their time on the streets.

鈥淎s the disease is transmitted by air and respiration. Our targets were security guards, parking officers, pedicab drivers, tyre repairman, motorists and pedestrians,鈥 she explained.
