UNAIR NEWS – To follow up the cooperation in developing education complex in Northern Gresik, Vice Rector IV ������ (UNAIR) Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D, with a team to survey the land for Campus E in Panceng sub-district, Gresik, on Monday May 23.

In this visit, UNAIR  delegates were received by the chairman of PT. Polowijo Gosari Group, A. Djauhar Arifin. In his welcoming address, Arifin said that the building of a university in northern Gresik will boost and improve the locals economy.

“It is a wasted land, the locals are poor and difficult to get water. With the university here, it will realize our dream to create prosperous community,” he said.

Arifin also added that the 420 hectares land will be developed in three phases. First phase, 5 hectares land is ready for development. Second phase, 45 hectares follow for the expansion. The last phase is 370 hectares for education complex development.

“The 5 hectares land is ready, UNAIR team please proceed and managed the first step of this big program,” added Arifin.

In response to Arifin statements, Vice Rector IV UNAIR said that, there are already discussions on the complex development. In this visit, Junaidi collaborate with a team from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember to survey the spatial and environmental condition of the future Campus E UNAIR.

“We are mapping the location. Next, there will be a team which test the soil and all,” said Junaidi.

Besides studying its physical development plan, the doctor graduated from Hoshi University also explained that UNAIR had studied its non-physical development. There will be some faculties and programs in Campus E UNAIR.

“We have studied the development for the next 25 years. At least, there will be 5 faculties and 12 programs, with calculated students to admit,” said Junaidi. (*)
