UNAIR NEWS聽– The Covid-19 pandemic has not stopped UNAIR聽Center for Career Development, Entrepreneurship and Alumni Affairs (PPKKHA) to hold a webinar series of Airlangga Online Career Fair 2020. Held via聽zoom聽and聽streamed聽on聽YouTube聽on Thursday, October 1, 2020, Human Capital Director PT.聽Pegadaian Moh.聽Edi Isdwiarto shared tips for 鈥楽uccessful Career in Corporations’.
In the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) which has 15.4 million customers, Edi said that his work environment cannot be separated from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.聽“Finally, almost all levels in Pegadaian, from聽cleaning service聽to my manager, have to adapt and be friendly with digitalization,” said the former聽marketing director of聽Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia.
According to Edi, there were five changes that occurred in the work environment of PT.聽Perseroan, including shifting employee duties, changing leadership and management mindset, a culture of transparency, trust and openness,聽individual wellbeing,聽and work digitalization.聽There are also tough challenges on capacity building, accelerating technology and digital adaptation.
Edi then revealed that there are three important points that job seekers must pay attention to in order to adapt and survive in this work situation. The first step is to identify which aspects can be controlled in difficult situations. “Second, never give up and be ready to rise from mistakes or failures. Finally, workers must pay attention to their health, not only mental but also physical, 鈥漢e explained.
Meanwhile, the characteristics and attitudes that workers must have in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 were summarized by Edi in several basic points, namely聽problem solving聽skills, creativity, critical thinking, human resource management, coordination skills, and cognitive flexibility.聽When applying these capabilities, Edi believes that job opportunities will always be open and present for those who want to have a career in the corporate realm, especially PT.聽Pegadaian.
In the webinar attended by more than 300 participants, Prof.聽Dr.聽Elly Munadziroh drg., MS.聽as Head of PPKKHA also delivered a speech.聽Prof.聽Elly hopes聽that UNAIR聽job fair聽webinar聽can be a warehouse of knowledge and information for UNAIR graduates and job seekers amid an uncertain pandemic situation.
