UNAIR NEWS聽– The scorching heat of Surabaya and sometimes the heavy rain that comes unexpected makes people forced to find shelter.聽 academicians also experience this.
Seeing that, UNAIR Directorate of facilities and infrastructure added new facility by building a canopy over the sidewalk that extends from the Faculty of Humanities (FIB), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the Library, the Faculty of Pharmacy (FF), the Language Center, and the Faculty of Law (FH).
UNAIR NEWS聽summarized some students’ impression of the new roof or canopy used by all UNAIR academicians.
It is very useful聽as Surabaya at noon is very hot. When it rains we are not worried because there is a roof.聽In addition, if we go home at night from FISIP the street used to be dark, now it is bright because of the roof lights.聽So do not be afraid to go home alone.

It鈥檚 nice.聽Before the roof was there it was聽hot but now not anymore. In addition, it鈥檚 very useful when the rain falls, the road under the roof is not wet.聽I hope there will be more of it to make pedestrians feel comfortable.

I think it is the right thing to builld the canopy or the roof to provide comfort for the academic community passing by without fear of overheating or rain.聽Moreover,聽 more innovations needed eg聽campus go green聽in order to maintain and even improve the air in the day.
