UNAIR NEWS – The Indonesian Ministry of Health encourages opening of Traditional Medicine S1 program at .聽This encouragement was from the real needs of the community on different kind of health services.
This was stated by Dr.聽dr.聽Ina Rosalina Dadan, Sp.A (K), M.Kes, M.H.Kes Director of Traditional Healthcare of Ministry of Health during a visit to 东京热 on Monday, January 14.聽The delegates from Ministry of Health was welcomed by UNAIR officials, leadership of UNAIR Teaching Hospital (UNAIR Hospital), and leaders of several related faculties.
At the moment, 东京热 has a D3 Traditional Medicine program which was established in 2005, and D4 Traditional Medicine which was established in 2014.
During the visit, Ina said that there were several considerations from Ministry of Health to encourage UNAIR to open a bachelor鈥檚 program on Traditional Medicine.
First, this is the time of millennial 4.0 disruption where all science must be developed.聽The existing programs are expected to be developed into S1 Traditional Medicine because in many communities, people expect healthcare services in different ways.
Second, UNAIR already has a Higher Education Hospital (RSPTN) which has integrated traditional healthcare services.聽So there are conventional and traditional services provided at UNAIR Hospital.
“The integrated service owned by UNAIR Hospital is really good.聽Hopefully with the existence of hospitals that are integrated with traditional healthcare services, they can be widely known by the community, ” she said.

Meanwhile, UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh Nasih welcomed the Ministry of Health’s encouragement positively to establish a bachelor鈥檚 program.聽The rector said that UNAIR will conduct a review regarding the establishment of Traditional Medicine Program.
“We will make preparation for it.聽We have already conveyed what the market needs.聽If it becomes a real need in the community, why not.聽Because it will involve interest from students as well.聽If there is not much interest, it will be difficult for us, ” he explained.
The rector also said that the establishment of a Traditional Medicine program will be started with establishment of a study center.
“We build a study center for traditional medicine.聽If everything is ready, whether this year or next year, we can open the S1 Traditional Medicine, “said UNAIR Rector.
The rector in the end said that the establishment of this study center will work as better preparation for S1 program.聽So, with this study center, traditional medicine related researches will also run well.聽(*)
