UNAIR NEWS – The Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) returned this year, taking place at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Tangerang, from Monday to Thursday (June 22–25, 2026). Higher education institutions from various countries participated in the forum to foster collaboration and share ideas on sustainable development.

“������ (UNAIR) is once again participating in the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) this year. This is not our first time joining the event; in fact, we have participated several times before. UNAIR has actively taken part in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) programs organized by the United Nations (UN),” said Prof Hery Purnobasuki MSi PhD, Head of the Institute for Sustainable Community Service (LPMB).

Prof Purnobasuki further explained that UNAIR also played an active role in the forum by featuring its representatives as speakers, including Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development, Prof Muhammad Miftahussurur dr MKes SpPD-KGEH PhD FINASIM, and Head of the Board of Planning and Development (BPP), Prof Dr Dian Ekowati SE MSi MAppCom(OrgCh) PhD.

In addition, the UNAIR delegation set up an interactive booth to share information and build partnerships with universities and other institutions. As one of the top-performing universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, UNAIR was well positioned to share its knowledge and best practices in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Our participation this time goes beyond sharing insights during the forum sessions. It also provides an opportunity to connect with universities from Indonesia and abroad. We hope to learn from one another, exchange knowledge, and strengthen UNAIR’s performance at both the national and global levels,” he said.

Prof. Purnobasuki expressed hoped that UNAIR’s participation in the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) would become part of the university’s contribution to addressing global challenges. Especially in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while creating a broader global impact. “We hope to continue learning from one another and contributing together so that UNAIR can create a more sustainable impact, both in Indonesia and globally,” he concluded.
