UNAIR NEWS聽鈥 Dozens of student exchange participants participated in the welcoming ceremony at Amerta Hall, UNAIR Campus C Management Office, Wednesday, December 1, 2021.聽They are students from outside Java taking part in the Independent Domestic Student Exchange (PMM-DN) program at .
They come from dozens of campuses in various regions in Indonesia, such as Manado, Makassar, Gorontalo, Palangka Raya, Tarakan, and also Bali. 鈥淭his year鈥檚 PMM-DN regulation, students from Java Island must attend programs outside Java, and vice versa,鈥 said UNAIR Director of Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Sukardiman, MS, Apt.
鈥淚n this MBKM (Freedom of Learning Independent Campus, ed) activity, one of the goals is how students can get to know across universities, get to know the culture, and have communication between students,鈥 he added.
In the next semester, these students will participate in programs at UNAIR, both lecture activities and聽soft skill聽supporting activities.聽On that occasion, Prof. Maman, reported a similar program that has been running in 2020.
The PMM-DN program was attended by 420 students who took part in the聽online聽program, and 41 students from outside Java took the offline program.聽They come from 113 universities spread across various regions in Indonesia.
鈥淔urthermore, there are 25 courses that are followed online. The highest interest includes courses in Corruption Criminal Law, Decision Making Leadership, and Mental Health. These two courses are from the Psychology Undergraduate program,鈥 said Prof. Maman.
Meanwhile, Director of Student Affairs UNAIR Dr. M. Hadi Subhan, SH, MH, CN. emphasized that before the MBKM program from Kemdikbud-Ristek, UNAIR already had a similar program. Some examples are the application of the Achievement Credit System (SKP) and the thesis-free policy for students who won gold medals in the National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) event.
鈥淣on-academic activities form聽soft skills; these are what students need after learning, how to lead,聽teamwork, not聽as superman聽but聽super team,鈥 said Hadi.
The PMM-DN program is one of the programs that support the BMKM program initiated by the Ministry of Education and Research and Technology. This program aims to enable students to gain experience in addition to studying on their own campus. (*)
