UNAIR NEWS 鈥 东京热鈥檚 serious commitment and real contributions to be sustainable campus get four points Tree Rating by the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2022. It was the highest achievement at the national level.
Supports sustainable campus
The achievement was in line with UNAIR鈥檚 attempts to launch SDGs-focused programs for the environment. Some of them are the increasing use of renewable energy, domestic wastewater treatment, and expanding green open space. Besides, UNAIR also focuses on reducing greenhouse gases by switching to environmentally friendly electronic devices and launching various campaigns and regular dissemination.
Dr. Nurina Fitriani ST, the Person In Charge of the UI GreenMetric sustainability program, took full credit for the achievement. Dr Nurina is an Environmental Engineering lecturer with more than ten years of experience.
Reputable ranking program
UI GreenMetric is the only global-scale university ranking in the sustainability field. In this assessment, the participating educational institutions are ranked based on commitments and concrete actions toward reforestation and environmental sustainability.
Trees Rating, which was released by UI GreenMetric, is a result of comprehensive audits in evaluating higher education鈥檚 achievements in implementing sustainability. The assessment refers to six indicators: setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water, education and research, and transportation.
Comprehensive assessment
As one of the global鈥檚 leading universities, UNAIR has attempted in supporting the environmentally sustainable university. The assessment, conducted on April 1, July 12, and October 24, 2022, determined UNAIR鈥檚 achievements and developments in carrying out sustainability efforts.
Being Agent of Change
The Director of Logistics, Security, Order, and Environment, Dr. Karnaji S Sos MSi, hoped UNAIR could take part in achieving environmental sustainability goals, especially in becoming agents of social change for the nation and state. He also appreciated every personnel and alum鈥檚 hard work for the achievement.
