UNAIR NEWS – The 1000 Digital STARTUP National Movement has long been campaigned since the Ministry of Communication and Information first launched it in 2016. To disseminate information about the program, the ministry collaborates with various institutions, including higher education institutions. This time, the national movement campaign was held in collaboration with through a roadshow entitled 1000 Digital STARTUP National Movement: Building Nation with a Million Potentials on Wednesday afternoon, July 28, 2021.

“On this occasion, we are certainly grateful for the attending speakers. Of course, they will share their experiences, ideas, and various kinds of practices that might contribute greatly to students. They will know how to create good startups with ideas they already have. They will be entrepreneurs who will not only look for jobs but also create a lot of jobs in this limited conditions,” said Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, DEA., drh., in his remarks as Vice Rector for Academic, Students, and Alumni Affairs of ������.

In line with what was mentioned by Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, DEA., drh., this activity aims to increase entrepreneurial motivation and build a startup ecosystem in Indonesia by providing understanding and opportunities to discuss how to become an excellent startup. So it can create new digital startups and accelerate the development of digital startups in Indonesia.

Covid-19 pandemic has caused limitations to face-to-face interactions and required us to make optimal use of technology in everyday life, including in the economy. So, the development of the digital ecosystem and the development of digital startups is essential and promising for the future.

“We see this pandemic actually has brought many problems, but we also have to look at it from the positive side. One of them may be related to our digital transformation, which is accelerated six years in advance. And we see the internet traffic has increased significantly by almost 20% -30%. It means internet usage is getting more massive,” explained Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, ST, M.MT, the Coordinator of Digital Startup of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, in his opening remarks.

The event, held through Zoom Meetings and Youtube streaming, presented three competent speakers in their fields,  Audrey Maximillian Herli (Co-Founder of RILIV), Niko Julius (Founder of SocialMediaMarketer.id), and Abi Sapta Widura, S.Kom., MMSI. (Digital Marketing Strategic). In the webinar, participants got opportunities to ask questions during the discussion session held after the presentations.

“We hope that these discussions can reinforce students’ determination to develop their ideas so that they can provide benefits, not only for personal development of students as startups or young entrepreneurs. More importantly, how the products and ideas of students guided by mentors can provide benefits to the nation and state, especially in solving complex problems we are facing now and in the future,” said Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, DEA., drh., in the closing statement.
