UNAIR NEWS – Being a housewife is not an obstacle for Monika Kartikaning Fajarin to get best academic achievement. For her, the obligations as a mother and a master’s degree student at Faculty of Public Health (FKM) were challenges to be faced. Because of that principle, the best graduate was achieved by the woman born in Malang, October 13, 1981. She graduated with of 3.98 GPA.

Monika also graduated from bachelor’s degree in 2002 with cumlaude GPA, 3.66. This year her GPA from Master’s program of FKM Administration and Health Policy program, in Marketing Management and Financial Services Health major was almost perfect. She had obstacles to achieve it.

“I must focus, be good at managing the time, and set my priorities,” said the first child of three siblings.

In fact, during her study, some social activities followed by the woman who likes to read and traveling. One of them was with the service of faith and prayer and Praja Pemkot Batu in the form of giving counseling and health services for free to people in remote villages in East Java, including for children with special needs (ABK) in Batu City.

Before taking her master study, Monika was an employee in Batu City Health Agency. From there, her concern to the world of health emerged and it inspired the title of her thesis, ” Cost Analysis of Health Promotion Program as the Basic Preparation for Rationalization Effort of Allocated Budget at Batu City Community Health CenterÌý“Ìý.

After that achievement, Monika will return to serve in her agency. For her, his true achievement is when her experience and knowledge can be devoted to serve others, as she has served for 15 years. (*)
