UNAIR NEWS – ¶«¾©ÈÈ (UNAIR) continues to expand its international network through a recent visit from the delegation of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP). Held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Plenary Meeting Room of Balairua, Management Office, MERR – C Campus UNAIR, the meeting focused on strategic opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and academic mobility.
The meeting was attended by UNAIR Vice Rector for Academic, Student, and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Ir. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, M.Si., Ph.D., and the Deputy Director of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE), Tahta Amrillah, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. They were joined by faculty ambassadors from the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dental Medicine, the Faculty of Nursing, the Faculty of Public Health, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Vocational Studies. The CTUMP delegation was led by Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Lam, M.D., Ph.D., alongside various faculty and academic unit leaders.
Strengthening collaboration
In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Alamsjah expressed his high appreciation and reaffirmed the commitment of UNAIR to fostering a closer relationship between the two institutions. “We are deeply honored to receive this visit and hope that the established collaboration will continue to flourish, particularly in research, academics, and institutional development, with a specific focus on the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy at both universities,” he stated.
He also noted that UNAIR admits approximately 9,000 new students annually. This large student presents a significant opportunity to develop student exchange initiatives and international collaborations with CTUMP.
During the discussion session, Amrillah highlighted various international programs at UNAIR, including AMERTA (Academic Mobility Exchange for Undergraduate and Master’s at Airlangga). This program offers international students the opportunity to participate in academic activities tailored to their respective fields of study.
Furthermore, the faculty ambassadors presented various student mobility programs that regularly take place across their respective faculties between September and October each year.
Collaborative opportunities
Prof. Nguyen Van Lam warmly welcomed these collaborative prospects. He emphasized that partnering with UNAIR marks a major milestone, as it serves as the first official partnership for CTUMP with a higher education institution in Indonesia.
“We hope this visit will strengthen the ties between our institutions. We look forward to developing diverse forms of collaboration, such as academic exchanges and sharing experiences in quality assurance and accreditation based on AUN-QA standards,” he remarked.
Through this visit, both institutions hope to unlock more opportunities and deliver mutual benefits that will enhance their growth on a global scale.
