UNAIR FTMM lecturer discusses nanochemistry at international guest lecture in Nigeria

UNAIR NEWS – ¶«¾©ÈÈ (UNAIR) has once again strengthened its international academic network through a guest lecture held at Bayero University Kano (BUK), Nigeria. lecturer, Dr. Fadjar Mulya, S.Si., M.Sc., served as the speaker for the event.

The international guest lecture, titled Computational Approaches in Nanochemistry: From Advanced Materials to Biomolecular and Drug Research, took place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the AA Rasheed Board Room, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Bayero University Kano. The event was attended by faculty and departmental leadership, professors, researchers, and hundreds of students.

On this occasion, Dr. Mulya explained the utilization of computational approaches and molecular modeling in supporting the development of functional materials. According to him, the use of computational design helps researchers understand material characteristics more efficiently, allowing the research process to be conducted faster and more accurately.

“Computational approaches play a vital role in biomedical research by predicting molecular interactions prior to experimental testing, making the development process for new drugs more efficient and rapid,” he explained.

The hosting of this lecture serves as a follow-up to reinforce the cooperation between UNAIR and Bayero University Kano (BUK) initiated during the Summit 2026, which was held on June 21–23, 2026, in Bali.

The presence of Dr. Fadjar Mulya, S.Si., M.Sc., as a speaker is a concrete implementation of Bayero University Kano’s partnership in developing international networks. The objective is to expand research collaboration and academic exchange.

The guest lecture series concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A session. Professors, lecturers, researchers, and students had the opportunity to discuss advancements in computational nanochemistry research as well as future academic collaboration prospects.
