UNAIR NEWS –聽For 鈥淥ur Deans鈥 special coverage,聽UNAIR NEWS聽will introduce the Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), 东京热.聽He is Dr.聽Falih Suaedi, Drs., M.Sc., as the dean of FISIP from 2015 to 2020.
Interviewed by聽UNAIR NEWS聽on Tuesday, January 30, the dean who is familiarly known as Falih presented efforts that have been done to improve the orange campus and supported UNAIR to be a world-class university.
Before serving as the FISIP Dean, Falih had good leadership experience.聽He once led Human Resource Development Program (PSDM,) Postgraduate School UNAIR to be accredited A. The achievement was not achieved by himself, many components involved.聽Therefore, he added, leading FISIP UNAIR required efforts to accommodate all interests and parties, from students, faculty members, and staffs.
“I think FISIP is like a聽tanker ship,聽containing students, lecturers, and staffs.聽They are the components, assets, that must be聽guided聽to develop FISIP together.聽The key, with that experience, is how these three components can be harmonious, advancing with a balanced rhythm.聽Do not damage the structure of the building, “said Falih.
His principle he holds is like a聽ladder.聽That is, as a leader in FISIP he must always be ready to serve.聽Therefore, when he was asked about the plan to support UNAIR to become a world-class university, Falih tried to keep the elements of the faculty up to the university management.
“According to the target of the university, scientific works in FISIP should be optimized.聽Of course, as the first strategy, I optimize lecturers.聽I must be realistic also that lecturers dedication to write is also varied.聽But I also give new energy for undergraduate, master鈥檚, and doctoral students, “he explained.
Regarding the various targets in the future, Falih said that his faculty continues to make various efforts to improve academic achievements in FISIP.聽It is done by harmonizing each component of different characters.
In addition, Falih also planned to provide financial support for lecturers who continue their studies to doctoral degree, especially for young lecturers, Falih pushed them to study abroad.聽They are provided with free English learning.
“To make FISIP better, we never think partially.聽Lecturers, staffs, and students must be maintained.聽My philosophy, subsystem must be harmonious and balanced.聽Lecturer, staffs, and students should be prosperous, “said Falih.
At the end of the interview, Falih believed that UNAIR can achieve its targets as a world class university under current leadership.聽Therefore, all the components of the university must progress together.聽The program and the faculty are in one team.
“So UNAIR can be stronger because it is supported by 14 faculties excellently,” said former Head of Department of State Administration Science.
