Paralysis causes people with this disease cannot perform daily activities independently, especially due to paralysis that occurs in the fingers.聽They have difficulty to hold a bottle / glass for drinking, eat, open the door and other activities primarily done with fingers.聽They have to depend on others.
Biomedical Engineering students, Faculty of Science and Technology, , Aisyah Widayani, Ahmad Nurianto, and Muhammad Amin innovated to make finger-motion instrument based on muscle signal聽”听贬补苍诲-笔辞迟别苍迟颈补濒”聽as a breakthrough for patients Guillain-Barre Syndrome.

The innovation then written in a proposal as 聽“Finger Motion Aiding Instrument to 骋耻颈濒濒补颈苍-叠补谤谤别听Patients, ‘听贬补苍诲-笔辞迟别苍迟颈补濒聽“.聽This innovation passed the selection of Student Creativity Program Invention (PKM-KC) category, and it got funding from Kemenristekdikti in PKM 2018.
Described by Aisyah Widayani, as the head of the PKM-KC team, the聽“Hand-Potential” as muscle signal-based instrument聽is a breakthrough for post聽-Guillain-Barre Syndrome 辫补迟颈别苍迟蝉听.
“We hope this tool can support the lives of patients paralyzed in order to do their activities without having to wait for help from others,” said Ais.
In addition, patients who usually have to come to the hospital to do therapy, later no longer need to worry if a physiotherapist is unable to attend.聽Because with “Hand-Potential” patient can do therapy independently at home.
“Hand-Potential” is an easy and practical innovation of medical instrument, able to improve the patients鈥 treatment to get well soon without depending on the therapist,” said Muhammad Amin.聽“This instrument is designed by using a polymer material that is lightweight, so easy to carry anywhere,” added Amin.
In the future, Aisyah’s PKMKC team hoped that this instrument can be utilized by the community, especially those who experience paralysis on their fingers due to聽 Guillain-Barre Syndrome.聽The goal is that he can support his daily activities without relying on others.
