SURABAYA – HUMAS | FISIP Unair x Mercury FM The Series is holding back the talkshow with the title “Knowing Soetandyo Award: 45 Years FISIP Serving the Nation. This collaboration was held on Tuesday, 13th December 2022. The speaker for this talkshow was Dr. Suko Widodo, Drs., M.Si. as one of the judges in the Soetandyo Award 2022.��

Soetandyo Award is FISIP Unair’s annual award event that was held since 2015. The winner of the Soetandyo Award was selected through a judging process, in which the judges consist of each lecturer from FISIP Unair’s department. This award was meant to give appreciation for the dedication of Prof. Soetandyo to developing social sciences. Prof. Soetandyo Wignjosoebroto, MPA was the founder of FISIP Unair in 1977. Suko explained that Soetandyo Award was born from Prof. Soetandyo’s thoughts, during his life he always influenced society with his simple and populist attitude. ��

That’s why the criteria for the winner of this award must have a character or sensitivity to uphold human and egalitarian values toward society. In addition, consistency is needed in upholding equality and justice in everyday life. This is to Suko’s statement, “looking for people who have a populist way of thinking, defending justice, and a way of life that is carried out continuously,” ��

From several nominations, the 2022 Soetandyo Award was given to Wahyu Dyatmika who is familiar by the name Mas Komang. He is a journalist for Tempo magazine. In this talkshow, as the judge, Suko expressed his hope that” In the middle of this social outrage, social concern, and justice, this Soetandyo Award which has a high value must be FISIP’s spirit, because this campus was founded for the community, it established not to be a beacon to be seen but to be embraced,” (DAA, PDA).��
