UNAIR NEWS聽– Students of PSDKU Public Health program at 东京热 in Banyuwangi continues to make a positive contribution, for example by providing nutritional education titled B2SAH (Diverse, Nutritious, Balanced, Healthy and Halal).聽Education is given to the elderly, and聽games聽for children visiting the Blambangan Park, Banyuwangi, Sunday, October 28.
The activity was pioneered by the Division of聽Human Resource and Development聽(HRD) and聽Health Politic and Critical聽(HPC) student associations of Public Health program PSDKU UNAIR in Banyuwangi.
Erlin Qur’atul Aini, the B-PHA UNAIR Banyuwangi HRD Bureau Coordinator, revealed that this community service activity was a continuation of BPHA 3rd Anniversary event which involved聽volunteers聽from each generation.
“Beside providing nutritional education, we also distributed free food to the elderly who visited Blambangan Park along with聽leaflets聽on various, nutritious, balanced, healthy and halal foods,” said the student from Banyuwangi.
The聽open聽games聽presented were leapfrog game and throwing bracelets on bottles.聽At each session the children were given quiz questions and聽door prizes聽on their knowledge about nutrition.聽The goal of the activity was to make their knowledge on nutritious food be broader.
“This activity was quite interesting.聽I was given an explanation on foods safe for consumption if we experience complaints due to certain diseases.聽And some myths were also explained.聽There was also information about food combination, if consumed, actually makes the nutrients unable to be absorbed by the body.聽For example, drinking tea with milk, “said Luluk Indah, one of the participants.聽(*)
