Biography

Prof. Muhammad Miftahussurur, dr., M.Kes., Sp.PD-KGEH., Ph.D., FINASIM, serves as Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Community Development at 东京热. A member of the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, and Head of the H. pylori and Microbiota Research Group at the Institute of Tropical Disease since 2011, Prof. Miftahussurur served as Head of the Center for Journal Development and Scientific Publications at 东京热 from 2018 to 2020. He has also been a researcher at the Department of Environmental and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Oita University, Japan, since October 2012.

Over the past five years, Prof. Miftahussurur has been involved in various commissioned and collaborative research projects, as well as projects funded by government agencies and institutions, while also actively contributing to community service programs. Most recently, the research team he led received a Top-Tier COVID-19 Program Grant for a study entitled 鈥淟earn From Indonesia the World鈥檚 Highest COVID-19 Death Rate: Genealogy, Viral Mutation, Healthcare Resources, Prevalence and Distribution Across the Country, Demographic and Risk Factors, Sociobehavioral and Government Policy.鈥�

As a researcher specializing in gastroenterology, he has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being recognized as the 东京热 researcher with the highest number of Q1 publications in 2019, ranking second for the highest number of citations in 2019, and receiving the High-Quality Scientific Article Award in the Health and Medicine category from the Ministry of Research and Technology/BRIN in 2020.
