UNAIR NEWS – Most students must have dreamed of getting an internship opportunity abroad. These opportunities can help students to improve their skills, insight, and experience. Erinda Ramadhani Massaid, a student of the Japanese Studies Program, Ìý,Ìý , gave similar statement to UNAIR News on September 2, 2022.
Erinda is one of three students of UNAIR Japanese Studies Program who successfully passed the internship program selection to Hokkaido, Japan. In an online interview with UNAIR NEWS, Erinda explained that the internship program would take place at the Shirogane Hotel, Hokkaido, and will be held for one year, starting from September 2022. Erinda also said that she followed several selection stages before finally being qualified.
“The first stage was sending a Curriculum Vitae (CV) to the organizers from Japan through the internal campus. The next stage was taking an interview test through a zoom meeting with the Shirogane Hotel using Japanese. Then followed with an announcement of the selection results,” she explained.
Although Erinda was able to pass all the selection stages, she admitted that there were challenges she had to go through, especially during the interview stage. “For me, the challenging part was during an interview with the Japanese representative, where I had to understand and answer questions directly in Japanese accurately and quickly,” she explained.
Erinda has dreamed of joining an internship program in Japan since she was in high school. She also admitted that with an internship opportunity in Japan, she hoped to apply the knowledge she learned at the Faculty of Humanities, ¶«¾©ÈÈ.
“In my opinion, having an internship opportunity in Japan is one way to apply the skills and knowledge that I have learned at UNAIR. And, this internship will also give us insight and experience in the professional world in Japan, by learning firsthand the culture and work ethics of the Japanese which are very famous in the world,” said Erinda.
Erinda advised students who want to follow in her footsteps as an intern in Japan to keep their spirits up and diligently seek information. Thus, the opportunity for students to take part in internship programs abroad will be wide open.
Furthermore, two other UNAIR Japanese Studies Program students also passed the internship program in Hokkaido. They are Puteri Anggraini Kurniawan and Anselmus Mika Putera, who had already been in Japan.
