UNAIR NEWS 鈥 The Rector of 东京热 () formally inaugurated the Directors and Deputy Directors of 东京热 Hospital (RSUA), the Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM), and the Veterinary Hospital (RSH), along with the Head and Secretary of the Institute of Tropical Diseases (LPT), for the 2025鈥2030 term. The ceremony took place on Friday (12/12/2025) at the first-floor hall of UNAIR鈥檚 MEER-C Campus.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE, MSi, MFin, said the inauguration marked a key moment of consolidation aimed at reinforcing UNAIR鈥檚 strategic direction in healthcare, research, and community service over the next five years.
The Rector congratulated the newly appointed leaders of UNAIR鈥檚 four health pillars, emphasizing that the appointments represent both a distinction and a substantial responsibility to uphold UNAIR鈥檚 standing as a world-class institution in health education.
鈥淭hese three hospitals are teaching hospitals. This places you at the core of UNAIR鈥檚 Academic Health System (AHS), functioning as centers for education, hubs for translational research, and primary providers of public health services, while consistently maintaining high-quality, equitable, and compassionate care in line with the value of Excellence with Morality,鈥 the Rector said.
In addition to the teaching hospitals, the Rector highlighted the strategic importance of the Institute of Tropical Diseases (LPT) in advancing laboratory-based research and health innovation. He noted that LPT plays a critical role in driving translational research, strengthening international collaboration, and delivering diagnostic services that form part of UNAIR鈥檚 unique strengths.
The Rector stressed that RSUA, RSGM, RSH, and LPT operate as an integrated and complementary ecosystem within the broader framework of UNAIR鈥檚 Academic Health System.

Pushing financial independence and entrepreneurial synergy
As UNAIR continues its transformation toward a World-Class Entrepreneurial University, the Rector said financial independence remains a major challenge that must be addressed through thoughtful, ethical, and strategic approaches.
鈥淭eaching hospitals must serve as one of UNAIR鈥檚 main drivers of revenue generation,鈥 he said. He called for the development of specialized, competitive, and globally oriented flagship services so that UNAIR鈥檚 hospitals can become leading referral centers for the wider community.
He also underscored the need for entrepreneurial synergy by integrating hospital services with innovative products developed by faculties, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and diagnostic technologies, to build a sustainable value chain.
The Rector cautioned that efforts to increase revenue should never compromise access to essential services for the public. 鈥淪triking a balance between profitability and social responsibility is at the heart of meaningful, impact-driven entrepreneurship,鈥 he said.
Message to newly appointed Directors and Deputy Directors
The Rector urged the newly appointed directors and deputy directors to demonstrate leadership that is forward-looking, adaptable, innovative, and grounded in integrity. He expressed hope that RSUA, RSGM, and RSH would emerge as centers of healthcare excellence that not only inspire but also deliver real benefits to society.
鈥淐ongratulations on taking on this responsibility. May Allah SWT grant guidance and strength to us all,鈥 the Rector concluded.
