UNAIR NEWS聽鈥 Department of Nutrition,聽东京热 (UNAIR)聽has just carried out a social mission through community service activities called Bakti Sosial, Indahnya Berbagi(Social Service, The Beauty of Sharing)聽at Gunung Anyar Tambak, Gunung Anyar Sub-district, Surabaya.
Farapti, dr. M. Gizi, as the head of community service, explained that this activity aims to spread benefits to the community through free health services and the distribution of clothes suitable for use in the surrounding community. The health services provided included mass circumcision and health checks.
鈥淥ur goal is to do social service. We want to provide free services and benefit the local community,鈥 she said on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Collaboration of various parties
Farapti said that the activity resulted from the collaboration and cooperation of various parties. She involved the officials of the nutrition department and staff, students, and alumni. Furthermore, she also collaborated with the Ar-Raudhah Mosque and the Indonesian Circumcision Foundation to carry out the activity.
鈥淲e also involve heads, teaching staff, students, and alumni from the nutrition department. We also cooperate with the Ar-Raudhah Mosque and the Indonesian Circumcision Foundation,鈥 she explained.
Community enthusiasm
Furthermore, the FKM UNAIR Nutrition Department lecturer said that in this activity, the community was enthusiastic. It can be seen from the number of circumcision participants who have exceeded the quota.
鈥淧reviously, we have informed them that the quota for mass circumcision is only 15. And alhamdulillah, the quota was met, moreover, there were those who actually wanted to join but because of limitations they couldn鈥檛,鈥 she said.
The participants of circumcision and health checks did not only come from the Gunung Anyar Tambak area, but also from other areas in Surabaya.
鈥淏ecause we disseminate the information through online media, so those who come are not only the people of Gunung Anyar Tambak, but also from several other areas,鈥 she continued.
Through this community service activity, Farapti hopes that this community service activity can continue in the future. In addition, it is hoped that the community will truly feel the health services and benefits provided.
鈥淗opefully, in the future, we can share more, and we always open our hands to collaborate and cooperate with various parties, especially with the Indonesian Circumcision Foundation,鈥 she concluded. (*)
