UNAIR NEWS 鈥聽Throughout 2022 东京热 () has made various achievements.聽One of the latest achievements was UNAIR鈥檚 scientific journal, The Indonesian Journal of Public Health from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM), was successfully indexed by聽Scopus聽on Tuesday (20/12/2022).聽This journal started to publish scientific journals in 2004.
The FKM鈥檚 journal indexing has increased the number of UNAIR scientific journals indexed by聽Scopus.聽鈥淲ith the addition of FKM鈥檚 journal, UNAIR currently has five聽Scopus-indexed journals,鈥 said Prof. Hery Purnobasuki MSi PhD, Head of the Institute for Innovation, Journal Development, Publishing and Intellectual Property Rights (LIPJPHKI) UNAIR.
The five journals include the Asian Journal of Accounting Research (AJAR) from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Scientific Journal of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs from the Faculty of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Ners Journal from the Faculty of Nursing, Dental Journal from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, and the scientific journal from FKM UNAIR.
鈥淗opefully, two journals in process and three additional scientific journals will be indexed by Scopus next year,鈥 said Prof. Hery.
Scientific journal submission
As a matter of fact, the process of a scientific journal to be indexed by聽Scopus聽is not easy.聽鈥淪copus聽is an international level index.聽In terms of scientific journals, this is the summit,鈥 said Prof. Hery.
Scientific journals are submitted聽online, but not all submitted scientific journals are successfully indexed by聽Scopus.聽Failure is possible in this case.聽After submitting the journal,聽Scopus聽will send a review and an embargo when the scientific journal does not meet the requirements.
鈥淚mprovement of scientific journals cannot be done quickly, journal publishers are given one or two years for it,鈥 explained Prof. Hery.
Various benefits
One of the benefits of Scopus-indexed scientific journals is that they open up wider opportunities for publishers to collaborate with various domestic and foreign partners.
鈥淚f Scopus index it, scientific journals can be read by people worldwide.聽It is possible if, for example, there are foreign academics who read them and are interested and offer cooperation,鈥 he concluded.聽(*)
