UNAIR NEWS 鈥 After carrying out a series of community service activities for approximately three weeks, the ECOFISH 1.0 Team from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK), 东京热 (UNAIR), held the culminating event on July 28鈥29, 2026, in Ketapanrame Village, Trawas District, Mojokerto Regency. The event marked the conclusion of all programs implemented in collaboration with the village government, Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), and the local community to support the development of community-based aquaculture.
Fish harvest聽
On Tuesday (July 28, 2026), the closing series began with a fish harvest at the Sumber Gempong Tourism Village pond. The activity involved the ECOFISH 1.0 Team, the village government, BUMDes, Pokdarwis, and local residents. The harvest coincided with the village鈥檚 monthly routine of distributing harvested fish to the community as part of efforts to strengthen food security through aquaculture.
The event reflected the collaboration between the ECOFISH 1.0 Team and the Ketapanrame Village Government in supporting community empowerment through fisheries. Besides assisting in the harvest, the team also strengthened the partnership between the university and the local community in developing the fisheries sector. 鈥淲ith the addition of this biofloc pond, we hope it will continue to be utilized and further developed by the community, not only as a fish farming facility but also as an educational medium and a means of strengthening the local economy in Ketapanrame Village,鈥 said the Head of ECOFISH.
Togetherness through exercise and communal dining
On July 29, 2026, the activities began with a morning exercise session joined by the community and the community service team. The atmosphere reflected a strong sense of togetherness and collaboration. Afterward, all participants shared a meal featuring grilled fish harvested from the pond. The gathering symbolized the success of the program while also promoting the importance of consuming fish as a source of high-quality protein.
The program continued with a presentation of the community service outcomes by the ECOFISH 1.0 Team before the Head of Ketapanrame Village, BUMDes, Pokdarwis, and community leaders. The team highlighted the achievements accomplished during the three-week program, including the construction of a biofloc pond, assistance in Nile tilapia farming, basic fisheries education, fish nutrition awareness campaigns, and community empowerment activities that supported the development of the tourism village.
The Head of Ketapanrame Village expressed appreciation for the team鈥檚 contribution in assisting the local community. The event was then officially closed, marking the completion of the ECOFISH 1.0 community service program. Although the program has ended, the established collaboration is expected to ensure the sustainability of fish farming management while supporting the continued development of the village鈥檚 tourism potential.
Through the collaboration between 东京热, the village government, BUMDes, Pokdarwis, and the local community, this initiative also supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 14 (Life Below Water).
