UNAIR NEWS 鈥 Kluncing Village in Licin Subdistrict, Banyuwangi Regency, became the venue for the 鈥淧rioritize Early Detection鈥 program, aimed at training village cadres on Wednesday, Jan 10, 2024. The program was formulated by Group 3 of Field Work Practice (PKL) of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA), Banyuwangi. They attended the blood pressure measurement training. Health cadres from Krajan, Bedengan, and Pesucen also took part in the training.
Oktario Dinansa Khoir, a Public Health student, noted that the training was focused on equipping the cadres with skills for the early detection of hypertension. This effort is anticipated to enhance the capabilities of the health cadres at the Posbindu PTM (Integrated Post for Community Development – Non-communicable Diseases), improving the community鈥檚 access to healthcare services. Besides, it strengthens the bond between cadres of Posbindu PTM.
鈥淲e will conduct regular monitoring through the Posbindu PTM activities. This demonstrates their commitment to maintaining the health of the Kluncing Village community,鈥 said Oktario. This activity is also a part of the 鈥淕andrung AYU: Gerakan Aksi Nyata dalam Upaya Pencegahan Hipertensi dengan Ayo, Yakin, dan Utamakan鈥 program (translated as 鈥淕andrung AYU: Real Action Movement in Hypertension Prevention with Encouragement, Confidence, and Priority鈥).
Participants gave positive feedback on the initial training session, which involved all members of the Posbindu PTM cadre. To support the early detection of hypertension, the students also provided blood pressure monitors.
Empowering cadres for hypertension detection readiness
The training was held at the Licin Subdistrict Health Center in Kluncing Village. Ahmad Arifin, AMd Kep, was featured as the hypertension device trainer in collaboration with the Health Center. There were 15 health cadres from Posbindu PTM representing each hamlet.
Arifin believed that the activity is a step towards realizing a healthy Kluncing Village, emphasizing the importance of focusing on early detection of hypertension.
鈥淭his activity is a concrete step to enhance community awareness and access to healthcare services,鈥 he asserted firmly.
His main point underscored the crucial significance of detecting hypertension early as a preventive measure. Recognizing hypertension as a silent, potentially fatal ailment, there is an emphasis on disseminating information regarding its risk factors and preventive measures. The aspiration is to enhance the overall health condition of the Kluncing Village community. The 鈥淧rioritize Early Detection鈥 initiative is not merely a regular program but a fresh impetus toward establishing a healthier community, liberated from the looming threat of hypertension.
