UNAIR NEWS – Another achievement has emerged from an alumnus of the Faculty of Pharmacy ¶«¾©ÈÈ. Air Commodore (Ret.) Dr Drs apt Yuli Subiakto MSi, a 1984 graduate of UNAIR’s Faculty of Pharmacy, was officially inaugurated as Rector of Nurtanio University Bandung on Thursday, May 21, 2026. His appointment highlights how UNAIR pharmacy graduates can build careers across multiple sectors, including pharmacy, the military, and education.
The inauguration marks an important milestone and reflects the broad contributions of UNAIR Faculty of Pharmacy alumni in strategic fields. Yuli Subiakto is regarded as one of the faculty’s distinguished alumni, with a long career integrating pharmaceutical expertise within the military while also advancing the development of military pharmacy studies in higher education.
His career began after graduating from UNAIR’s Faculty of Pharmacy, when he was assigned to the Indonesian Air Force hospital in Surabaya. His dedication and professional expertise later led to positions at the Indonesian Air Force Central Hospital in Jakarta and the Air Force Pharmaceutical Institute.
Held several strategic positions
In addition to his work in military healthcare services, he was entrusted with several strategic roles, including a position at the Directorate General of Defense Forces at Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense. During his career, he also served as head of the Air Force Pharmaceutical Institute, a key leadership role that underscored his contribution to the development of pharmaceutical services within the Indonesian Air Force.
Beyond his involvement in the military and pharmaceutical sectors, Yuli Subiakto has also shown a strong commitment to education. He previously served as a lecturer at the Military Pharmacy Faculty of Indonesia Defense University. He later held leadership roles as Director of the Air Force Health Polytechnic in Ciumbuleuit, Bandung, and Vice Rector II at Nurtanio University Bandung. Known widely as Pak Yuli, he has consistently promoted the development of highly skilled professionals in defense and pharmaceutical sciences.
A strong alumni network has also become one of the foundations supporting graduates’ contributions at the national and global levels. Yuli Subiakto has played an active role as Chairman of the Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni Association, leading initiatives focused on strengthening alumni networks and community engagement.
His appointment as Rector of Nurtanio University Bandung is expected to inspire students and alumni to continue achieving excellence and contributing to society and the nation. The achievement further reinforces the growing role of UNAIR Faculty of Pharmacy graduates in strategic positions across Indonesia.
