UNAIR NEWS聽鈥 The Alumni Association of Faculty of Humanities聽聽(IKA FIB UNAIR) officially inaugurated Police Chief Commissioner Yuli Cahyanti SS MSi as the head of 2022-2026 period on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.聽Kombes (Chief Commissioner) Yuli, is an alumna of Class 鈥1989 English Literature study program.
Interviewed by聽UNAIR NEWS, Kombes Yuli admitted that she gained a lot of experience and valuable knowledge during her undergraduate studies at UNAIR.
鈥淓ven though I鈥檓 currently working in a field that鈥檚 actually different from the major I took at UNAIR, my work still uses the knowledge I鈥檝e learned here,鈥 said the Head of the American and European Cooperation Subdivision, International Convention, Interpol Indonesia NCB Set, Division of International Relations of the Indonesian Police (POLRI).
For that, Yuli is grateful to be given the opportunity to contribute to the faculty by being appointed as Chair of IKA FIB UNAIR.
Various experiences
Kombes Yuli has been a member of the Indonesian peacekeepers as a Police Advisor on the UNAMID mission in Darfur, Sudan, Africa. For this achievement, Kombes Yuli received the honor of Satyalancana Bhakti Buana from President Joko Widodo. In 2018, Kombes Yuli also won an award as 10 Outstanding Policewomen at the 70th Anniversary of Policewomen.
Role of alumni advancing faculty
Kombes Yuli interpreted the role of alumni as a source of inspiration and input for the faculty. 鈥淎lumni contributions play an important role in advancing the faculty. FIB alumni spread across various professions and scopes can provide a variety of inputs, suggestions, and information for the progress of the faculty,鈥 she said.
Furthermore, alumni can be聽role models聽and career inspirations for students.聽鈥淏y knowing the various professions pursued by alumni, students can be motivated, inspired and informed about careers, positions, and other opportunities by alumni,鈥 she explained.
Make space for alumni
Although she hopes she could maximize the role of alumni, the alumna of the second batch of English Literature study program understands the job responsibilities and priorities of alumni. 鈥淪o as much as possible, the program does not take up a lot of time and attendance from the alumni, but can still contribute to the progress of the faculty,鈥 she said.
