18 Students of Lincoln University Study at UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS聽– The beginning of 2018 is a good moment of collaboration between Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce, Lincoln University, New Zealand, and Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).聽There were 18 students from Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce, Lincoln University, received by the Dean of FEB UNAIR in Tirto Hall, FEB, Tuesday, January 2.聽They are students of聽inbound exchange聽program聽who will study at UNAIR for the next two weeks.

Inbound聽and聽outbound聽exchange is one of the internationalization programs promoted by FEB, especially UNAIR in general.聽For two weeks, participants will get various lessons about economy and culture.

They will visit PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Phokphan, and PT Pelindo as well as modern and traditional markets in Surabaya.聽They will have Indonesian class;聽learn traditional dance;聽visit Kampung Dolanan, Surabaya;聽follow social activities in the community;聽and follow several courses held in class.

“Thank you for the amazing welcome by FEB UNAIR.聽Hopefully we will get a lot of lessons from here, “said Prof.聽Dr.聽Hugh Bigsby, Dean of Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce, in his speech.

In the welcoming ceremony, there was a Madurese dance performance by FEB students.聽For the next two weeks, they will also be accompanied by聽volunteers聽from students.

“Early last year, we’ve sent three staffs to the Faculty of Agribusiness and Commerce.聽Now they have聽summer school聽programs held every year.聽FEB UNAIR has been , “said the Dean Prof., Dr., Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak.

Dian hoped that the聽inbound聽program聽could become a medium of knowledge transfer between students of Lincoln University and FEB UNAIR and it is also useful in order to introduce UNAIR to the international sphere.聽In addition, the program can be routinely implemented.

“Hopefully in the following years, it will be a routine program.聽We will also routinely聽held outbound program.聽It will support UNAIR towards Top 500 World Universities, “Prof.聽Dian added.

In addition to聽inbound聽and聽outbound聽exchange programs for staff and students, there is also visiting professor, joint-researches, and several other programs.聽In 2018, 212 FEB students are recommended to follow the聽student outbound program.聽Countries invited for the collaborations are Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Australia.

“We’ve been visiting and doing MoA (聽memorandum of agreement聽, ed聽)聽with universities in those countries for聽student outbound聽program this year,” said Prof.聽Dian.聽(*)
