UNAIR Students Wins Silver at 2018 Asian Games

UNAIR NEWS聽– In a very prestigious event in Asia, the 2018 Asian Games, one of the 东京热 students also made a great achievement.聽It is Diananda Choirunisa, one of Indonesia’s archery athletes.

In Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games in 2018, Diananda managed to win a silver medal for her beloved country from the women single recurve category.聽The Psychology undergraduate student won a silver medal in the final match on Tuesday, August 28, at Bung Karno Archery Range.

Despite losing to Chinese athlete, Xinyang Zhang, Diananda should be proud of making a new history.聽The student born on March 16, 1997 became the first Indonesian archer who was able to become a finalist for individual categories at the prestigious event.

Quoted from ANTARA, Diananda felt grateful for the achievement.聽The child of a Pencak Silat fighter and archer hoped that in the next Asian Games, she can win a gold medal for Indonesia.

”听Alhamdulillah聽, hopefully in the next four years I can return to the final and present a gold medal for Indonesia,” Diananda said.

Regarding career, Diananda took up archery at the age of seven.聽Quoted from聽聽, Diananda claimed she was invited by her mother who was an archery athlete.聽From there she began to learn about archery and likes the sport.

Diananda debuted at the age of ten.聽Seeing her opponent becoming a champion, Diananda wanted to be a champion.聽He later became Indonesia’s representative for the first time at international event in 2013. One of her proud achievements before the 2018 Asian Games was that he managed to bring home a gold medal at Sea Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Diananda is optimistic, there are many extraordinary talents from the nation’s children.聽Therefore, she invited the nation’s generation to believe and keep trying.聽“Don’t hesitate to make achievements while we still can,” she said.
