UNAIR NEWS – “������ needs the professors to give practical solution for the nation’s problem as it is already complex,” said UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mochammad Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak, during the inauguration of three new professors, Wednesday, May 24 in Garuda Mukti Hall.

The three professors inaugurated were Prof. Dr. R. Tatang Santanu Adikara, M.Sc., drh (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine), Prof. Dr. H. Widi Hidayat, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CMA (Faculty of Economics and Business), and Prof. Dr. I Dewa Gede Ugrasena, dr., Sp.A (K) (Faculty of Medicine).

Being a professor is the culmination of a lecturer’s career who has developed the science and applied it to the community. Nasih hoped that the new professors can take the civilization to magnificence.

“In the future, the new professors are born and inaugurated in Garuda Mukti Hall who will bring us magnificence,” said Prof. Nasih.

The professor of Faculty of Economics and Business also said that the three professors have proposed solutions to the problems in society.

Prof. Tatang’s finding on laser for acupuncture can be used to improve the animals’ health quality and breed them well. “We can use acupuncture to improve their breeding ability. So we don’t have to import to meet the national demand,” said UNAIR Rector.

Prof. Widi’s idea to optimize the performance of organizational entity through internal and external audit synergy. With the synergy, an organizational entity has the space and time to repair the system.

“The mechanism can be simpler so there’s time to make improvement. There’s time to develop a control system rather than overlapping reviews,” said Prof. Nasih.

Meanwhile, Prof. Ugrasena can improve the survival rate of child cancer patient.  “Prof. Ugrasena’s idea is also excellent. He wants to have a cancer unit in the healthcare facility or special unit for early prevention,” said UNAIR Rector.

In the inauguration, each professor delivered their scientific oration. Prof. Tatang explained briefly his oration titled “Roles of Acupuncture in Anatomy and Community Welfare”. Tatang as the 26^th active professors of FKH uses soft laser on acupuncture points in the animal called laserpuncture.

“Laserpuncture can be used to improve animal health, make them gain more weight, produce more milk, improve their endurance especially for race animals and also improve the reproductive ability,” said the 456^th professor of UNAIR.

Prof. Widi delivered his “Entity Performance Optimization through Internal and External Audit Synergy”. In the press conference, the 21^st professor of FEB said that the government and business entity should have synergy for better management.

“To simplify the audit process, either internal and external, so it won’t be a burden,” said UNAIR 457^th������Ǵڱ�����ǰ�.

The last professor, Prof. Ugrasena also delivered his oration called “Strategies in Improving Survival Rate for Cancer to Children in Situation Full of Challenges”. The active 107^thprofessor said that the low survival rate for cancer to children should be handled with various strategies.

UNAIR 458^th professor identified at least nine causing factors for low survival rate. Some of them are lateness for treatment, financial problem, limited human resources, limited drug availability, malnutrition and limited medical facility.

The inauguration was attended by officials, active professors in UNAIR, invited guests and academicians. (*)
