UNAIR NEWS- Taking part in community service is one part of the higher education 鈥楾ri Dharma鈥 that should be practiced by the academic community. Kalingga, a cross-faculty alumni association at 东京热, also aims to strengthen brotherhood among alumni, support the campus progress and carry out its community service with real programs.聽
The current Covid-19 pandemic condition makes 东京热鈥檚 alumni feel compelled to help the country鈥檚 recovery progress. Through the 鈥淪aweran Satus Ewuan鈥 fundraising program, Kalingga hopes to support health services by purchasing an Ambulance or a multi-purpose vehicle.聽
The word 鈥渟aweran (literally 鈥漜hipping in鈥) was chosen to illustrate gotong royong, which is one of the community core principles of the Indonesian people. Meanwhile the word 鈥渟atus ewuan鈥 in Bahasa Indonesia means one hundred thousand is expected many can get involved without feeling embarrassed to donate because the sum is not much.
鈥淭he bottom line is that helping can start small, and anyone can do it as long as they are sincere. Now, if this little assistance is done together, it will be big too,鈥 added Bustomi, the person in charge of the program and an alumnus of FISIP UNAIR.
The fundraising held by Kalingga will be used to purchase a multi-purpose operational vehicle as one of the important facilities to be given to 东京热鈥檚 Hospital (RSUA) in order to support the need for an ambulance or medicine transport, food transport, and health worker鈥檚 shuttle vehicle.
鈥淲e have communicated with parties who understand this, Insya Allah, the vehicle to be donated will be beneficial,鈥 concluded Bustomi.
The fundraising is an alumni initiative initiated by Bustomi, an alumnus of International Relations program of FISIP UNAIR. (*)
