UNAIR NEWS聽– Efforts to achieve sustainable development in Indonesia are made even more massive.聽One of them is through Great Indonesia Leaders Summit (GILS) 2018, a program held by Inovator Nusantara.
On July 21-23, along with 188 youngsters from all over Indonesia, a student of Physics program Moh.聽Wahyu Syafiul Mubarok and Biology program Sarofatul Nafa became 东京热 delegates to follow GILS 2018.
Being held in two places, Batu and Malang, GILS 2018 participants were divided into six sustainable development teams.聽There were about 40 people per team.聽The six teams were divided into topics, without poverty, without hunger, gender equality, clean and affordable energy, sustainable cities and settlements, and marine ecosystems.聽Each team has聽a different聽social project goal.
Wahyu claimed to gain many benefits and valuable lessons after following the activities.
“We can expand relations, enrich the insights, and engage in social project initiation to shape Indonesia’s vision in the future.聽The most memorable thing for me is when we went directly to clean up Brantas River to pick up garbage with community Sabers Pungli – Sapu Bersih Sampah Nyemplung Kali, “he explained.
In this activity there are conferences inviting public figures, environmental practitioners, academics, and government officials that focus on sustainable development.聽In addition, there was also Batu Engagement, learning from the movement and community in Batu City in accordance each team.
Then, there was also聽ideas coaching聽with speakers and聽coaches聽who help formulate the social project that will be implemented by the participants.聽And,聽pitching competition, a presentation to attract investors and corporations to work together and support the聽social project聽formulated by each team.聽Activities were closed with聽outbound activities聽together.
“I am really proud to be one of the candles of hope for the villages and the regions, collaborating in a massive space, and inclusive with other candles from all over Indonesia to become the torch of civilization for a better Indonesia in the future.”
There are 3 selection paths before Wahyu and Sarofa could follow the event.聽The first was papers selection, interviews, and聽social-project聽video making聽.聽The second selection path was the silver ticket, which is the path that is destined for the finalists who participated in the previous GILS essay competition.聽On that occasion, Wahyu was one of the participants who got the silver ticket.聽(*)
