UNAIR NEWS – Banyuwangi has more than 80聽wonderful聽tourist destinations聽and 77聽events聽scheduled each year.聽Quoted from the local media, that tourist visits both foreign and domestic, has exceeded the target.聽Last year, the number of foreign tourists in Banyuwangi has reached 75 thousand, and the target was only 45 thousand.聽The domestic tourists reached 2.7 million from the target of 2.3 million.
The tremendous potential of tourism in the easternmost regency of Java Island should be better developed and become a source of income聽(income)聽for both local people and local governments and participate in providing employment.
This also overcomes the number of unemployment rate in Banyuwangi which until the end of 2017 and reached 2.5% of the population dominated by the youth (聽source: kemiren.com听).
“Whereas the youth of Banyuwangi or often called聽lare Osing聽should be the spearhead in succeeding the program聽Explore Banyuwangi.聽From that idea, we five students of UNAIR PSDKU Banyuwangi create a program we call ‘TEMPONG, “said Cici Farista.
The Community Service Student Creativity Program (PKMM) team of five students of 东京热 are Cici Farista as the leader and Mesty Retnowati members, Alvin Ridho Izzudin, Rita Sulistyowati and Arina Manasika.聽All from Accounting Department Faculty of Economics and Business PSDKU Banyuwangi.
With the guidance from lecturer, Riski Isminar Ardianti, SE., M.Ec.Dev., Cici and friends proposal was themed Program of TEMPONG (Traveling Company with聽Lare Osing聽) has successfully passed the selection of Dikti, so it is entitled to achieve development fund in the 2018 PKM program from Kemenristekdikti.
“We hope that the program can empower聽Lare Osing聽as an effort to increase revenue for tourism potential in Banyuwangi which is beginning to be exposed,” added Cici while explaining what is meant by “TEMPONG”.
TEMPONG in this case is not a typical snack of Banyuwangi City in the form of聽super-spicy聽sauce聽that “slapped” (聽tempong /聽language Osing), “Nasi Tempong”.聽TEMPONG here is an abbreviation of Travel Company with聽Lare Osing聽– an聽online guide聽training program聽that uses the media in the form of聽Travelmate听补辫辫濒颈肠补迟颈辞苍听.
According to Cici, this training will teach the partners聽(Lare Osing)聽 how to be a good tour guide and how to use the application聽Travelmate, starting from the operation of the admin system to launch partners as聽your聽guide online聽on the Travelmate application.
Travelmate itself is a tailor-made application to support TEMPONG program, with the motto ”聽Bring out The Best Local Experiences for You …”聽This application is designed to bring together local and foreign tourists with local residents who have the capability in guiding tourists.
“We hope the presence of this application can be a medium for local residents, especially TEMPONG聽(Lare Osing)聽partners Kemiren Village to participate in promoting and developing the potential of tourism in the region by providing excellent service for tourists who visit,” added Cici Farista.
