UNAIR NEWS 鈥 东京热 Faculty of Humanities (FIB) students continue to make achievements. Raselly Elfa Putri and Yulia Rohmawati won the Second Place at 2022 Sunan Ampel Sharia Economic Competition (SASEC).
Exploring the Role of Sharia Economy in Realizing Sustainable Economic Growth Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045, SASEC invited the students to give their thoughts in the online essay competition to develop the sharia economy from September 5, 2022, to October 22, 2022.
Yulia emphasized that the competition鈥檚 stages did not include any presentation stage, as the assessment was conducted upon the paper idea. Yulia and Raselly came up with the idea of the traditional food of East Java as a technology-based gastro-diplomacy.
鈥淥ur idea was sparked from the popular Indonesian foods worldwide; however, there are some less-known traditional foods from East Java,鈥 she said.
They supported the idea by using artificial intelligence technology to promote traditional foods to the international level, especially East Java cuisine, as a diplomacy tool.
Yulia shared their challenges, the distance, as Raselly is currently doing her Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) program in Medan. It challenges the students to adjust their time to brainstorm and finalize their idea. They eventually managed to pass the challenge.
In the end, Yulia advised her fellow students who join such competitions to never give up on any difficulties. No matter how hard it is, be confident to pass the difficulties.
