UNAIR NEWS聽– Two students shared tips on following student exchange in Korea.聽The interest of student exchange in Korea is increasing from year to year.聽The two students are Adien Gunarta, student of Communication Science Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and Iffa Aulia Fiqrianti, Technobiomedic, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) student.
Both have been in a student exchange program at Chonnam National University (CNU), South Korea.聽Adien in 2016, and Iffa in 2017.聽They attended the聽International Student Exchange Fall Semester program聽for four months.聽After sharing information about their experience at CNU in an event organized by Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) on Friday, January 26, both shared tips for UNAIR students who are interested in joining similar programs.
“With an Exchange program we gain different experiences in someone else’s country,” Adien said.
For four months on CNU, Adien and Iffa took four courses but they were different from their studies at 东京热.
Adien, for example.聽At CNU he took courses in English Literature, Aesthetics, Korean Traditional Art, and Korean while Iffa took Korean, Korean Folklore, Biochemistry, and Nanomaterials Processing.
The Exchange was opened by AGE UNAIR (formerly known as International Office and Partnership (IOP),聽ed聽), one of UNAIR’s work units engaged in internationalization.聽Conditions that both prepare were essays, CVs, TOEFL certificates, and transcripts.聽TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 500, and a minimum GPA of 3.00.聽If they pass the document papers, then they are eligible to follow the selection of interviews.
Iffa said that students who include reasons for the courses they take will have a better assessment.聽Adien for example.聽The man who focuses in art and aesthetics took Aesthetics course during exchange program聽at CNU.
“If you know what are you going to take there, it will be a plus point.聽Like Adien who has passion in aesthetics, “said Iffa.
Iffa was impressed with the South Korean people who really appreciate the time, judging from the way they walk.聽“The people there walk fast.聽At first, it is like 聽offending when you walk but then hit.聽But you will get used to it.聽Korea is a developed country.聽They really appreciate time, “said Iffa.
In 2017, in the same program, UNAIR sent three students to join the聽student exchange聽at CNU.聽Besides Iffa, there were two other students in Psychology program, Faculty of Psychology (FPsi), and Management, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).聽(*)
