±«±·´¡±õ¸éÌý±··¡°Â³§Â – Three new professors of ¶«¾©ÈÈ officially inaugurated by Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nasih, SE, MT., AK., CMA., on Saturday, July 28. Two of the professors were from Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) and one was from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).
The three new professors are Prof. Dr. Chiquita Prahasanti Sulistiowati, drg., Sp., Perio (K), a professor in Periodontics Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG); Prof. Dr. H. Soegeng Wahluyo, drg., M.Kes., Sp. KGA (K), a professor in Dental Pediatrics Faculty of Dental Medicine  (FKG); and Prof. Dr. Basuki,  (Hons)., Ph.D., Ak., CA., CMA., a professor in Accounting from Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).
The three professors were inaugurated in Garuda Mukti Hall, 4th Floor, Management Office Building. With this inauguration, UNAIR now has 186 active professors out of 474 professors in total since UNAIR was established in 1954.
In his speech, Prof. Nasih reminded the professors on their responsibility and dedication to the state. The inauguration became a moment of determination to devote themselves for the people, the nation, and the state.
“Sure, we hope next year’s research will increase. Publications will also increase, “he said.
Inauguration, continued Prof. Nasih, is expected to generate the energy of to continue to grow and, ultimately, as effort to make UNAIR move faster.

In addition, Prof. Nasih added that in the inauguration, the three professors are expected to increase efforts to develop science especially in the field of dental medicine and accounting. In the end, the three professors are expected to make a real contribution to the alma mater, also Indonesia.
“The responsibility is to bring the future to this day,” he said.
“As what we sung together, to the professors, we all wait for your works,” he added.
Professors’ Ideas
Delivering the first scientific oration, Prof. Dr. Chiquita provided spoke on tissue engineering innovation as a future hope to overcome the problems of patients with aggressive periodontitis. Tissue engineering, she said, is very promising for biological reconstruction, referring to the progress of the field of surgical therapy.
Prof Chiquita explained that stem cell -based tissue engineering is expected to be used to repair damage to periodontal tissues, gum infections that damage soft tissue and tooth-supporting bones.
“Based on my research, Indonesia’s natural potentials can be developed and utilized to produce useful materials in tissue engineering,” she said.
In the second oration, Prof. Soegeng stressed that parents should increase awareness of the use of toothpaste for children. The excessive use of fluoride can interfere with the growth of teeth in children. He also recommended that parents only give toothpaste in children as big as peas.
“Only give it (toothpaste, ed) as big as the size of a pea. Giving too much doesn’t mean cleaner result, it is wrong, “explained Prof. Soegeng.
“People are not aware of fluoride use for days. One of its effects is fluorosis, growth disorder of tooth enamel, including shape, quality, and dimension, “added Prof Soegeng.
Meanwhile, in the third oration, Prof. Basuki conveyed his thoughts about the need for accounting to reach the social field, particularly involved in creating community welfare.
“What we understand all this time, accounting is aimed to record and report financial transactions based on certain rules,” he said.
Accounting orientation that is understood by most people so far, according to Prof. Basuki, only focusing on the interests of the capitalist, interest of capital owner. However, he added, times have changed. It is not the time for accounting to deal with only a debit-credit deal, serve only the capital owner and ignoring the bigger things outside.
“Such as the cases related to damage and natural pollution due to excessive company,” he said.
The social value should be instilled to the accountants. They also count the effects of economic activity in the community, especially the negative ones. (*)
