UNAIR NEWS – Iga Rahma Azhari, a student of Faculty of Nursing, successfully won First Place Anti-Drug Ambassador Sidoarjo Regency in 2018. Mapanza club member won the title at 2018 Anti-Drugs Abuse Ambassador on Saturday, July 14. She won it after two stages of selection. First, a written test on drug insights and Sidoarjo regency, talent test and interview.
“Each test has its own challenges. Written test requires learning about drugs and general knowledge. Unlike the quarantine, because it is required to learn a lot for the grandfinal, “said Iga.
From all the processes, Iga was very happy. Through all these stages she met great people and became a better person in everything. During the process, Iga also did not know what made her elected. It was purely the judges’ judgment. She just gave her best in every process.
“My principle, a man cannot be perfect. But man can do the best he can, ” stated Iga.
The principle is applied during the process of gaining knowledge and using the time as well as possible.
It was quite an achievement  for Iga herself. In addition, it is a mandate to realize the tasks from the National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) Sidoarjo to minimize drug abuse problems in Sidoarjo regency.
“As an anti-drug abuse ambassador, we conduct early prevention through intensive dissemination to the community, especially the younger generation. Because drugs are not a small problem in Indonesia, ” she explained.
Iga explained, the problem of drugs in Indonesia is quite apprehensive. In East Java itself, over 4 million people are involved in drug abuse. A solution at the root level is needed.
With her background as a student, Iga wants to dedicate herself and her time for Sidoarjo regency. There was a sentence she always hold up to this day. ‘Do not ask what Sidoarjo has given you, but ask what you have given to Sidoarjo’.
Iga hoped, she and other friends can make Sidoarjo and Indonesia free of drugs. She also has a message for addicts and non drug addicts.
“For addicts, it’s never too late to change, do it now. And for non-addicts, stay away from all temptations. You are a winner and agent of change, “said Iga. (*)
